What about this for people with IA.

What about this for the people with IA.

1.Program the keypad (if you even can) first. <<not sure if this is even possible with push button start and IA fob.>>

2.Then place your fob in a foil bag (we have them at work for avionics in a plane) / that will block the IA signal. Place keys in a hidden place (like glove box/center console.

3. When you leave/approach car use keypad. Then pull fob out of bag. Drive away.

I only throw this out there as i do mountain biking and don't want to be carrying my keys around the forest.

I just got a keypad for my 2014 SE. At first I could not get it programmed following the directions that came with the keypad and later the directions wavsine posted.

I was able to get it programmed by turning the key eight times and ending in the OFF position.

The locks did not cycle, but I got chimes when it entered programming mode and each time I pressed a button on my keys or the keypad.

I hope this saves someone else the frustration.

Keyless key pad

The problem I'm having is when I program one remote then my other one doesn't work. I programmed it and then the first one doesn't work. How to get them both programmed and working!

You have to program all of them at the same time.

I ended up having the dealer program mine. I just couldn't get it to go into programming mode. I did try the 8 cycles. anyway, done. I mounted the remote under the tail gate lip, to the left of the latch/light. If I'm not going to carry my keys, that is always the first door I'm in and out of.

Pepper, the instructions linked above are accurate on that point. You need to hit a button on one remote and then a button on the next remote within 10 seconds, hearing a sound each time for as many remotes as you have. It might be possible to do that too fast also. Wait one or two seconds between each remote and make sure you hear the sound.

That's where I was thinking about putting mine. Also considering the underside of the driver side mirror just to be a little closer to the door. Glad you got it worked out.

So I finally decided where to put my keypad. I went through the trouble of sanding it and painting it body color, but when I put it above the drivers side door handle, it stuck out like a wart as some people have called it. And since it won't fit in the gas cap compartment, I stuck it under the license plate cut out (facing downwards of course). There's a perfectly flat area there and it's hardly noticeable when looking at it from behind if you paint it body color. It's a little more inconvenient perhaps compared to mounting it above the door handle because you have to bend down and look underneath to punch in the numbers, but for me anyways, it's just a back up if I was to lock my keys in my car by accident (I did that once on a road trip last year :( ) or if I was at the beach perhaps. Plus I doubt potential vandals would notice it there.

Programming was super easy. Just have to have both sets of car keys. I only ever used my one set of keys so the other new one was locked in my safe. Found out that the new key set wasn't even programmed! So when I was doing the steps I programmed the other set of keys at the same time during the set up process. Took me maybe 5 minutes for set up/programming.

It's not really that noticeable as in the first picture. That is light hitting at an angle creating a reflection, as you can see in this enlarged picture:

Only bright sunlight hitting at an angle is there a reflection. Most of the time there is no reflection. At a slightly higher angle, cant really see the keypad at all:

Nice, Pennut!

Thats the same place I have mine, albeit on a sedan. I use mine pretty often, so it was easy enough to learn to feel the buttons and press the code without looking at the keypad.

Do you think you could post a picture of the keypad itself? I'm curious to see what it looks like painted to match the car.
