It will "not" work with the IA Focus models. I asked my dealer to install it when my car arrived. They were unable to do the programming, contacted Ford Tech support who advised the dealership that it will not work with IA.

I just had the keyless entry pad put on my 2012 Focus SE and it works great. But I am annoyed because the dealer didn't tell me and I didn't think of it that I would have to take my spare remote in and now it doesn't work. Going to try re-programming this thing myself. Also they put the keypad parallel with my door handle and I think it would have looked better under the door as on my husband's Escape.

They placed it above the door handle because that is where it is mounted if you order it as a factory installed option. The factory location is 1/2" above the door handle pocket and centered.

Reprogramming it is straightforward. I assume they gave you the card with the master code and programming instructions.

It is not placed above the door handle though, it is slightly above the door handle and to the right. Not a huge deal but I had assumed they would put it under the door handle as it is on my husband's Escape. I had them put in a code that I wanted and have the instructions and will trying programming later today.

It is by far one of the best things I have added to my car. I never carry my keys anywhere...just leave them locked in the car. Great for when I go mountain biking etc. It was $125 installed at the dealer when I bought the car. It is just stick-on but you have to program it.

I think I need one. Also, can you lock the car with it running, like if you are warming it up on a cold morning?

When I first researched this in the forum, I read reports that it would not unlock the car if it was locked and running. I installed one on my 2013 SE Hatch and I can verify that the wireless keypad will unlock the car when it is running and locked. Keep in mind that these keypads will not work with IA (Intelligent Access) systems. They only work with the standard power locks.

For anyone that didn't know this either, your other keyfob will still work while the car is running. My older Fords would not do this. But I can start the car in the AM, and lock the doors, then use my other fob to unlock them when I leave. But then you are carrying two keys around. So the keypad would be the best way to do this.
