I kinda agree. A hand car wash near me cleaned the floor mats of my old Focus and they looked good as new for $20.

If it was just snow/water I wouldn't have worried about it personally but with the amount of salt we dump on the roads up here every winter I was more concerned about tracking all of that in.

Salt IS the big issue. it will eat your carpet and the stains will be there even after you clean it so the liners do make sense.

Mine too! My trunk mat was delivered yesterday along with my Husky front lamp films. Just in time for our trip to the north (that's north CA, not Yukon Territory).

Worse yet, water driven salt will pass through the carpet to the floor, where it will remain wet for long periods and increase the risk of rust-through.
