I considered the Elantra GT, Protoge 5, Civic EX, and the Jetta 1.8T.

The Jetta was out of the price range, and the other models were to expensive for what you get. The Protoge was out of the price range too. The Civic was way to expensive for what you get. What do you get for all that money? Honda's reliabliltiy? The Civic's theft rate and less power for sure. The Elantra GT became very unapealling after the test drive. I can't explain why, mostly because of the lack of power and bad brakes. But in the end the incentives Ford was offering made it no contest. I have no regrets.

I just looked at the Specs of an Elantra & I am impressed.

It looks like a Saab. I wouldn't own one but its sportier than I thought.

I was gonna get another Stratus coupe (01-02 cause the new ones are butt ugly) but I couldn't find one in a manual. Other ones were 00+ Mitsu Eclipse (with the V6 engine), Honda Civic or a Toyota Matrix.

Well back then, the Civic Si had just came back out and I wanted one so bad because nobody had one and I would have been the first person to get it. But my parents were being real ignorant and wouldn't sign with me if I got that "hotrod"

Your 'rents where probably smart on that. I am happy that my parents made those decisions for me, when I was a kid. Otherwise I would be dead.

Just because you can shift gears doesn't mean you know how to drive a car.

I looked at the Toyotas, Suzuki, Neon, and Nissan. For the money the I felt the Focus was the better buy.

ZX3 Chick - My last car was an '00 V6 Galant. I don't miss it too much.
bacc231 - Which Focus do you drive? I thought about all 3 of those cars. The 1g DSMs are cheap & easy to mod but not reliable. Hella fun though.

Well, the only thing I miss about my Stratus coupe is the looks. I thought it was a very beautiful car. But my Focus is too. Other then that I'm just glad I got the Focus over the 3200 pound automatic that I once had.
