Livelink log list
When loading the duratec log list Tom supplied when it loads on my car for my engine (Duratec 2.0L) i get a popup that says "does not match" or somthing. So i went into the log list to try and make a new list.
WOW! im shocked how much stuff you can log with this thing, it really is amazing all the different things you can add to the list and monitor or log while driving. One thing i notice is when i check all the items in the "Duratec log list" it extends the tree for each item and what catagory that item is in. BUT when i get to spark, there is no "SPK ADD KS" 0-3. This must be why live link says the log list doesnt match? So ive taken a screen shot of what we can pick in the spark section. But im not sure what to add to replace "SPK ADD KS 0-3" anyone have any tips for this part?

I figured out somthing else, when your connected to your car and you want to edit the list that you log you have to connect to the ECU with the SCT device. Then you can pull up the list for your ECU/Engine.
At the top there is a code. Mine is FDEE5 ![]() Now if you dont have a laptop to use in your car while the SCT device is hooked up you can just click commands> configure datalog items then you have the option to connect to the ECU, no or cancel. Click no and put in that 5 digit ECU code and you then get the full datalog list. ![]() Im hoping Tom could plug in this code and maybe make a new datalog list for the duratec?

what your calling a "code" is the calibration ID ( CALID ) for your ECU code there is about 300 of them for the Focus now maybe more I couldnt do a CALID for each Focus Code
The list I did make works on about 90% of the Focus out there if you look under the downloadable list it says it may not match but to go past that and it logs fine for most Tom

oh ok, i did read that it says it didnt match.
Im just trying to fix it so my datalog list matches and it maybe more accurate. I thought maybe the knock sensor section was what didnt match or was off or something. Should i try all of these?

You don't need #4.
I think the reason you want 4 of them is with the Duratec it will adjust spark per cylinder, that's what all the dwell stuff does. So 0=cylinder 1, 1=cylinder 2, 2=cylinder 3, 3=cylinder 4. If you pick 4 it would be cylinder 5, which doesn't exist. The KS voltage I think is useless. I'd thought a voltage spike would match the point of knock, but from all the logs I've pulled on my car it doesn't. At least not always. Could be different on the Duratec though. Doesn't hurt to log them and see if there is any correlation. For the most part logging anything isn't bad. It helps you find out how things relate to each other. For instance when you log knock and the KS sees knock you'll see that ignition timing is retarded and injector PW's go up (which you probably didn't know). Also in Tom's generalized list the priorities of the PID's aren't the best. If you go through and pick the capitalized PID's you'll get better data (little faster and might be more accurate). What I'd recommend is to spend lots of time logging for your own benefit. Go through and select select 15 PID's at a time and log them. If you get no data the PID doesn't work for your box code (is probably for a V6 or V8 being all show up). Keep a running tally of what PID's work. That way when you want to see how it all works together you can pick from known working PID's (everything in the lists won't work, probably half will). It's not something Tom will benefit from, but you will because if you think something isn't quite right you can log it and Tom can explain what the data should look like and if yours is screwy. I mean if you have the software you may as well use it as much as possible to get you money's worth. |

Please dont pick the upper case PID many dont work and it just messes thng up and you will be logging again , keep them lower case unless I ask for something in upper case
Just choose the 0,1,2,3,4 on The duratec some use the 0,1,2,3 and some the 1,2,3,4 if you do 0,1,2,3,4 it covers all Cyl Tom

Cool, i wasnt sure what the difference was with the same items. I did notice some are lower case and capitalized but i wasnt sure why.
Can you post a list of what all you log?
