My Lighting Mod

So the UPS man came today and I proceed to get to work upgrading the awful lights on the Focus. My previous car had HID's so the stock halogen bulbs were like a candle in a jar compared to them. Not wanting to do HID's in the stock housing I figured I'd just upgrade the bulbs.

I went with Noyka Arctic White bulbs for the low beams, Phillips CrystalVision Ultimate's for the high beams, Noyka Hyper Yellow bulbs for the fogs and Putco 360 degree LED's for the corner lights. All in all I think it turned out pretty good!

Swapping the high, low and fog's were all really easy and just took a couple minutes. Getting the corner lights though was a huge PITA. You need tiny hands to get at the socket and there is almost no room to work.

how much did all the lights run you?

I order some new lights. But with Canada post still on strike, and the rest of the shipping companies overcharging for shipments i have to wait.

Low beams and fogs were $20 per set, the highs were $25 for the set and the LED's were $17 for the set.

Does the fogs being yellow make them work better? I think it looks stupid that way, but if it lets you see more in fog then I'm down...

Otherwise looks cool. Might have to swap out the lights in mine. Do the amber LEDs really make any difference?

I wouldn't mind changing the low beams for something a bit brighter. fog lights i have yet to turn on for my car so no need to change them.

the corner lights, are they just the DRL's?

Did you use stage 1's or stage 2's?

I don't have DRL's in my car, the corners are just the parking lights I guess. They are probably the DRL's in other parts of the country/world where they are required.

And the yellow fogs do help with visibility in poor weather conditions. I've had them in cars before and it helps in the rain and snow the most. We don't get a ton of fog where I live so I don't ever really get to see how they'd work.

The LED's are just for looks but they are stupidly bright.

So what's the overall difference in light with the low beams? Wasn't terribly impressed with how well the 2012 low beams work on poorly lit roads...is it a significant improvement with the bulbs you used?
