I, too, would be very interested in getting a copy of this information from Ford. I am waiting until this issue is definitively solved before getting a Focus... and I am getting anxious!

I went in for my first oil change and mentioned this problem to the tech. We went for a drive and were able to duplicate the issue - I told the tech to keep the steering wheel straight on the highway - and when she did we observed the car drifting from left to right - without moving to the steering wheel.

In addition to the oil change they gave me an alignment which seems to have helped slightly - haven't had the chance to drive a good amount of miles to really see if it made a difference. Either way will wait for more people to get the ball rolling on this to see if there actually is a deeper problem.

I'm having a feeling this has to do with Continental Tires on the Focuses........ Mine is the same way. Thankfully my dad just received his Focus (doesn't have Continental tires). Took his to work one day and his did not do it at all! This is severely dangerous and should be addressed by Ford.

Hi, strange you should say about the conti's, when my Mk4 Mondeo, sorry foci is on the way, arrived it also had conti's and it tramlined. However after fitting Falken's to the front wheels and having the tracking done it disappeared completely.

Yeah, I'm not liking these Continental tires on my Focus, either.

While I don't have any problems with tramlining, they are quiet noisy when going over broken pavement. They make a hollow sort of pinging noise.

I'd change them right now, but I am le poor, so they'll stay until the tread is worn off and they actually need to be replaced.

Hi, which conti's are they? On the UK foci's, at least on the ones I've seen, they fit Michelin Pilot Sport 3's. http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/michelin-pilot-sport-3

The Michelin's are only available with the Handling Package on the Titanium trim. They come with the 18" wheels.

Hi, we don't have the handling package over here in the UK, just the 18" wheels as a option.

EDIT: My bad, it seems conti's are also fitted to lower spec cars as well over here as well. After my experience with them I'm glad my foci won't have them fitted, I hope...
