Wait i think I remember now. Its been almost 2 years so bear with me on this. See the little silver clamp looking thing at the base of the hose there. You will need to take a flat head screwdriver and place it inside that and bend it out some. It is ok to bend it. You will not break it. Then this will release that hose.

Does that hose have a purpose on this install? Like, will it eventually connect somewhere again?
Stupid question I know but I'm just trying to get some things cleared up before I get to deep into the install and have to turn back. Thank you though, seriously. Big help. Oh and one more question? Do you remember how you got the 4 bottom bolts out of the underside of the air box? Directions say get under the car but I read somewhere that it'd be easier to just take of the drivers side wheel and go in through the wheel well. |

When I removed mine I never jacked the car up nor did I remove the wheel....

The 2007 I drive is a PZEV. It has both a tube from the valve cover, crankcase ventilation, and a tube that is an EGR supply, exhaust gas recirculation. Both tubes connect to the rubber connector that is upstream
from the throttle blade. That is one of the pieces that the CAI replaces. Just phoned FSWERKS. They said that both tubes connect to the new CAI tube. I want to do this mod and am trying to learn to avoid problems. When I raced dirt tracks we used the outerware filter cover. They help keep the filter dry from occasional splashes, but the big thing is protection from flying debris. NO, I don't sell any of this stuff. |

That's what I do when I'm changing the oil. It's super tight but I can fit. I know that I'm not gonna have to go back under there once the stock one is out. So if I can just muscle myself under there real quick without having to take the wheel and fender cover off it'd save a lot of hassle and time. |

Alright... It's installed. Ran into a few snags but eventually worked out.
My only concerns is that the intake doesn't hang completely vertical. The filter isn't perfectly aligned with the t/b, it's kind of closer to the front of the car. It's just look like its asking for trouble, also the hoses feel really tight. Also, there's a weird hissing noise when I hit the gas. Sounds almost like a NOS injection. Does that mean a leak somewhere or has anybody had that kind of experience? |
