I had my parking brake on also. could be the wrong code entered by the dealer too as stated in an earlier post. I will look underneath for any weeping.

Okay, I re-ran the VHR with the parking brake not set. Now the report shows my brakes are fine.

I imagine most people run VHR when they're parked, so I find it strange that it was programmed to provide an urgent warning message about the brakes when the parking brake is set.

Just had the same thing happen to me; I was also parked with the parking brake engaged when I ran the report.

I will run another report after work today while driving to see if that was (hopefully) the issue. A little silly if that is indeed the case.

Don't do the test with your parking brake on.

Had this happen to me and I asked the dealer about it. If you run a VHR with the e-brake on it will show a "brake and suspension needs service" alert...I double checked afterwards and ran it just in park w/no e-brake and it didn't pop-up again.

I've never run the VHR while stationary as the car had to be running for at least a minute before hand otherwise it doesn't work. But it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that if you were to have the hand brake on while stationary it would assume that your brakes are seized up as the disks would be clamped shut.

we did have some issues with this before.

only once did i see a car with brake issues ( a leaking caliper on an Enterprise Rental Car).

It's a good idea to change the oil fairly quickly on a new engine in order to get any initial particulates out of there. You should not go 20,000 miles before your first oil change, especially with only a synthetic blend.

Some of us did an early oil change or two, figuring that the engine break-in contaminates the oil very quickly. I did my first one at 1,500 miles. Next one at 5K on the odometer. I'm going 5K-10K thereafter.
