I'd love to get one as soon as they are released, but unless I win the lottery or something, I'll have to wait for the used market.

^ Anyone know what that's about?

We're planning to get one, but up on the fence about whether to get it when it comes out or doing the financially responsible thing and waiting a year or so. We have a perfectly good, although rather boring, G6 and another year without car payments would be nice.

I guess it really comes down to pricing and features.

But I'm 97% sure I'll be ordering this the second I can, so I can get it as soon as possible.

And from what I've heard, it will be a 6 speed manual transmission only. Nothing from Ford has said otherwise.

I already have a Gen1 Mazdaspeed 3. I don't think that the ST will be an upgrade over my MS3. The only way I would consider the ST is if it came with the SelectShift with paddle shifters (most likely not going to happen).

Now the GenPu MS3 isn't a bad deal you just have to put up with the smiley face front fascia.

I consider that to be a huge drawback.
Without the specs of the ST, it's hard to tell if it will be an upgrade over your MS3.

If I wanted anime for a car, I'd buy a Mazdaspeed 3

The styling of the Mazda 3 and the storage capacity behind the seats were the two major drawbacks for me. And neither of those change in the MS3.

Sold!!!! Although I doubt it. Comparing the option laden offerings currently available ... I can't see it fitting into the line up.
But it was mentioned earlier that the line up would have to change to fit the ST.

Let us hope that they don't include too much standard stuff on the base ST, let people option it up if they want to. And I really hope it doesn't come with 19 or 20 inch wheels standard... I loathe unnecessary unsprung weight.

It's a shame that Ford went away from specific optioning of a vehicle and went the Rapid Spec route. But it is all about making the company profitable.
