xbox in the glove box

just wondering if anyone else has done this besides me? i havent put it in yet but it should be in by this week somtime if i can find the time to do it. i purchased a dvd flip up screen recivier and im going to use the xbox as my dvd cd player. reason for this not only do i get to play gams on my lunch hour but you can save so much music on an xbox its better than haveing a bunch of cds.

If you have pics, id like to see them. I installed a 7" monitor in my sunvisor, but i had to put te xbox under the seat 'cause i couldn't figure out how to mount it in the glove box without tearing the whole thing apart.

hmmm... You might want to consider rigging some sort of air flow for the Xbox. Its basically a PC and i would be careful of it being in a tight enclosed location. You might overheat from time to time.

If i remember correctly, some of the earlier Xboxes had some heat issues.

yeah a friend of mine had one of the first they released, and if you were playing on it too long the hard drive would start to melt, and i believe soon after that they had a recall.

some vents or air flow, like carrier said, would be a good idea, so this sort of thing doesn't happen. it'll probably run you a little extra, but if you want to do it i'd say it's worth it

Thats not a bad idea! They can hold quite a bit of music. I might have to do this one day!

you can get a device, probably at radio shack, that converts the plug in that the xbox has to the cig lighter. i know people that go on road trips that use it for TVs

They are called power inverters. They change your cars DC power into AC power. Here is one from Parts America so you can see what they are. You would need one that is about 250 Watts. So that one would work and is $30 plus shipping, but you might be able to find a cheaper one some where else.
