Engine Cover

I have an SEL on order and am wondering if the engine cover for the Titanium will fit? I found on fordparts the cover. It is listed as Air Box Insulator part number 9p686. Only runs $10. Anyone know if it will fit right on without any problems? Wasn't sure if there are differences in the Titanium engine compared to other trims.
Thanks,
Damian

I'm not sure you found the right part number, I remember it being closer to $80. I believe the general opinion is that the right part will fit on all models.

The image doesn't work for that part, and what's more it lists 4 of them required per vehicle- almost certainly not the right part number. I imagine this could be the rubber mounts that isolate the airbox from vibrations.

Try this..go to fordparts.com and enter a vin for any Titanium. At the bottom search for keyword air box insulator. It will show up.

As I suspected, if you look at the diagram closely the part you referenced is for the rubber mount. The correct part number for the Engine Intake Manifold Cover you're looking for is 6A949 and it's $80.18

I was at my dealers training session and the Ford rep. said anyone could buy one of these from their parts dept. and could put it on your SEL or any other model 2012 Focus.

I was wondering why some of us didn't get the Engine Cover. You spend $18,000.00 to $20,000.00 on a car and you have to buy an Engine Cover as an option for $80.00? I noticed there are mounting studs on my SEL for the pins to support the cover. Maybe they ran out of parts on the assembly line.

They were standard only on the Titanium's at first. Now they are not standard on any model.
