I actually went to Marx Customs. They originally quoted me $280, but it came in right over $300 when I picked it up. Gotta love varying prices... They did top notch work though.

yeah they are great guys. i may take it back and talk to them again, because the mk3 has alot more glass. will just see what I decide though

Do people tint their sun roofs? I've never owned a vehicle with a sunroof except my `12.

There was a myth that tinting the sunroof would cause it to crack. General consensus is the roof is usually tempered glass and it is just a myth and not something to worry about.

As far as whether you SHOULD tint it. Hard to say - a couple of things to consider:

• The roof probably has a pretty good tint on it from the factory - there aren't state laws saying you CAN'T tint the roof, so the car manufacturers typically do that.
• Like most windows, you have to weigh heat rejection (good reason to tint it), against reduced visibility (you might be less likely to leave the roof closed b/c the sky is darker, the interior is darker (not a real concern, though), but you don't have to worry about police or reduced visibility of surrounding cars.
• If it were my vehicle, I'd probably go with 20% tint on top of what is already there on the roof (but I didn't do it on any of my previous cars (but I only had one with a sunroof and any window tint). (All things being equal - in Georgia, legal tint is 35% all around, so I suspect the tint shop might not want to use 35% all around and then 20% on the roof, so I might realistically end up with 35% throughout (except the windshield).

I have mine tinted with 7%. And so did family members in their previous vehicles. Its nice when you have the sunroof up. Or if you leave the sunroof "privacy cover" open its not so bright in the car. My parents recommended it to me, I usually leave my "cover" closed unless I intentionally have the sunroof open though.

Hmmm you're right it does look like that. I haven't noticed anything in person so maybe it's just a trick of the angle? I'm definitely going to go out and have a look in a minute.

You were right . It's pulling away much more on the right side (as you can tell in the pictures) than the left side but it's very obvious the chrome is not attached, it can be lifted away from the door.

Now that's three body related issues I need to get taken care of on my less than 7 day old car... the dent in the rear right side door that was noted before pick up, the door ding that an idiot of a coworker gifted me with earlier today, and now the chrome pieces pulling away.
