Does anyone have recommendations on the tint brands? I found a place near me that will do detailing and tinting.. and they use Solar Gard. Is that a good brand of tint? Any issues to be aware of? Should I be looking into places that use 3M or or some of the other brands mentioned in this thread? Is there a place I can read online that compares and contrasts them?

I was interested in the flaps too then after I drove down a recently oiled asphalt road and it sprayed up on the side of Focus Banana I was way more interested. Then, like you, I saw someones red Focus on here with the flaps and thought it looked pretty good so I ordered a set. Best price I found shipped was on eBay (a Ford dealer). $52.45/set shipped.

So when you guys say you got 5/15/20/etc is that literally the percentage for the film? Talking to the tint guy today he was saying that in order to be above the 35% limit for NC he would have to use a 50% film because of the light blockage from the factory glass (~15%). I always hear people say they got "35% in NC" where the limit is 35. The factory glass would put them below the limit wouldn't it?

I just had mine done yesterday. The shop uses Solar Gard. I've had other cars done with the same stuff and it seems to hold up well. I think one of the strong points for this brand is the UV protection. It's important down here in the swamp we call Florida.
