The 2012 Window Tint Thread

i have a white ti and am getting the windows tinted. am conflicted as to what i want to get percentages wise -- i'm in california, and on my old zx3 got a fix it ticket for getting the front ones done. but it looks so good when all of them are done.

thoughts?
50% front, 20% everything else?
35% the whole way around?

I'm going 35% (maybe 40%? 45%?) all the way around. No need to make the back any darker than the front for me... plus, I think it looks goofy.

I honestly could drool over this thread all day... I am hoping to get this done to my car before 2011 ends...

the biggest question is... 20% or 35%

The tint was redone on mine and again the tint job is not well done. When I asked for the tinter's name, the service guy answered he didn't know (contracted outside the dealer). I'll leave it for now and when I'll get some extra money next year I'll get it redone where I will have read good reviews on. I'll go to a different city if I have to. I can't believe they told me that the tinter has over 15 years tinting experience.

70% on the front 20 or 25% the rest of the way around is what I would do if I lived in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia. I agree that it looks better if they are all the same but I am not willing to put up with multiple fix-it / retints.

Just get what you want and tell the cops who pull you over your an illegal mexican. Not only will they let you go, but the government will probably pay you enough subsidy to pay for your tint. ;-) lol

I had full 30% on my 2000 Zx3. I drove it for over 11 years with no problems.

yeah it is pretty much a crap shoot as to whether or not you get pulled over. some places are pretty strict and some just don't give a crap. The only reason I tend to stay within bounds is because it gives the police a reason to stop you if they are looking for one. I have enough issues that does that (no front plate for example) I don't need another one LOL

Hi, kaelumsonofson I live in Raleigh as well and from the quote you got it looks like we are dealing with the same installer. Formula One by All Pro Window Films on Newton Rd.? From everything I have seen they seem to do the highest quality work in the area. I just left there shop and pre-paid for my tint. On Monday morning I will have Formula One Pinnacle 35 installed all the way around. Just wondering if you were completely satisfied with the job they did and do you have any before or after pics of the car? Thanks

I'm currently sitting in the waiting room getting 30% Formula 1 pinnacle put on my car. One hour down, probably another hour to go. Can't wait to see the results.
