The customer before me had 30% done and I thought they were too light for my liking. I'm risking it by going 15% but I have not been pulled over YET.
I'm in Ottawa and got pulled over a few years ago. When the cop asked me to roll-up the windows so that he can check the tint... he said seemed dark. I had made the comment that I had them done at the dealership and asked them to tint no darker than the law permits. The cop said, "I decide". I haven't checked the HTA to see if true.

Ok I had to check and this is what I found on OHTA:

Colour coating obstructing view prohibited

(2) No person shall drive a motor vehicle upon a highway where the surface of the windshield or of any window of the vehicle has been coated with any colour spray or other colour coating in such a manner as to obstruct the driver’s view of the highway or any intersecting highway. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 73 (2).

Colour coating obscuring interior

(3) No person shall drive on a highway a motor vehicle on which the surface of the windshield or of any window to the direct left or right of the driver’s seat has been coated with any coloured spray or other coloured or reflective material that substantially obscures the interior of the motor vehicle when viewed from outside the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 73 (3).

I just got mine tinted this morning. It's MaxPro CP 33%.
Before pics are in the "Post when you get a VIN" thread.

Funny since you mention it. I was going on info a co-worker provided me since I've never had anything tinted before. Turns out they botched his job royally and passed it off as normal...lol The film leftover did wipe off but he has scratches and bubbles everywhere on his brand new yellow camaro. I guess thats what you get for taking the cheap way out.

In other news I found a shop that's very highly rated and is one of only 3 in Ontario that uses Formula1 ceramic tint, so I'll go there.

Unfortunately it was getting dark and won't be able to get better pictures until maybe this weekend, but this is 20% on all of back and rear doors and 35% on front doors. Nothing on windshield.

Had my car at the dealer to get the windows retinted because I wasn't happy about the tint work and when I went to pick it up yesterday, it didn't get retinted. The tinter had said that the he doesn't have much experience with the new Focus. Its got some tight corners so he would most likely do the same type of job. Seriously! I'm not quite sure how to react to this. I understand that the nicks are not all that noticeable but it's in each freagin corner of the windows (almost). Any of you experience the same thing? Is your tint perfect? Am I being too picky?

Nope, find another tint outfit. Mine and many others here have had good results and I'm very particular.

Ive done tinting for 15 years, and the new Focus is one of the easier cars Ive tinted.. There is no tight corners to deal (unless you are dealing with the windshield)with that any reputable tinter wouldnt be able to handle. Take it back, make them remove it, and make them pay for it to be done elsewhere,,
