Windows Up/Down from Remote Fob

I'm pretty sure that the focus in europe and I have heard that the focus in Canada have this feature that if you press unlock like twice on the fob all the windows and sunroof roll down and if you lock it twice (or three times) they all roll back up. Is it possible at all for us US people to get this functionality? I would LOVE to have this in the summer.

I was actually wondering the same exact thing!

My friends all boast about and show off these feature in their Hondas over the summer. Hate that my new focus doesn't have it!

The question was "can we get this functionality".

If other markets have it I'm not sure why our cars wouldn't be able to be programmed for it to work.

Ok guys, I have some good news and some bad news.

Bad news is, in the US market the cars have this feature disabled.

The good news is, in THEORY, this function can be ENABLED by the Ford IDS tool. Its a tool that allows the technician to look into all the functions of the vehicle and disable and enable them, among other things.

Even more good news is, I have spoken to my service manager, and a technician that I know very well. Tomorrow morning we are going to pull my car in, hook it up to the IDS, and see if we cant figure out how to turn her on :D

Before we get too excited, I will say that my service manager says that Ford can lock certain functions out form being changed with the IDS, so there is no guarantee. For example, he said they used to be able to enable cruise control on F-150s that didn't come with it. They would buy the steering wheel with all the hardware, hook it up, fire up the IDS and turn it on and bam, you now have cruise. Ford later disabled this.

Cross your fingers, and I will report back with the results!

Now all we need to do is figure out how to hack this into a MK1 focus...
