My first lapping event in the SVTF
I just attended my first lapping event in the SVTF at a local kart/bike track, Stratotech. It was a ton of fun and it got me some seat time for fairly cheap. I know my lines aren't the best and I wasnt pushing the car too hard as it's my daily driver.
The car has a tune from Randy, high flow cat, K&N drop in, Kmac plates, koni's, 24mm front sway, star specs and the rest stock. Here's a lap http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udm1hcIpVEE |

awesome man, really good for your fist time on track!
If you try a rear anti-roll bar that is stiffer than your 24mm front, you'll probably find that the car is more balanced.

I do agree that I would benefit from a bigger rear bar. That being said, the car is fairly neutral and will rotate easily enough with trail braking. Don't know if i wanna try a 24mm rear bar first or just go straight to the 25mm. |

I'd say 25mm. That's what I have on my street car and I'm liking it. For FWD you kinda need the rear bar to be stiffer than the front to fight understeer. But 1mm difference is hardly going to be noticeable. I recommend trying either 24 or 25mm in the rear and the stock SVT bar in the front.

I'll be getting a bigger rear bar soon but the only way I'd change the large front sway for a softer one is if I get stiffer springs. The body roll is a little excessive as it is, putting the stock bar on isn't going to help that out.
Next year I'll either get H&R race springs to go with my koni's or get some H&R coilovers. I'll then put the stock bars and see how the feel is. Could then up the rear's a mm or 3 if necessary. As it stands, I'm very happy with the car the way it is. I'll tweak with the setup a bit, but I'm more insterested in getting comfortable with the car and improving myself over improving the car. So far, that plan has been going very well. Ill have lots of vids posted in the autox vid thread after this weekend. We have the challenge cup saturday, which is a team of 4 event, and the regionals are on sunday. |
