My custom Borla exhaust

Alright so I finally have some decent sound clips up on Youtube of my exhaust and intake... and it only took over a month! Haha!

Oh well, at least you can hear what the exhaust sounds like after some break-in time.

Here are some of the specs for those who can't watch the videos ATM:

-Steeda CAI
-Custom Borla cat-back using Borla mufflers 40842S and 40364 with 2.5" piping from the header.

EDIT: I meant to mention this from the start but forgot, I had the round muffler placed back towards the first bend in the tunnel so that I would have room to add a magnaflow cat once I get an FSWerks header. I noticed people have just been placing their round mufflers/resonators right after the stock header, which is fine if you aren't changing the header or not running a cat once you do. However, those of us that will need a cat for emissions may be interested in this idea.

I actually had two of these done this weekend, but had to redo another because it's sound quality sucked. Tried to edit these all together in a video with movie maker, but the sound kept shutting off. Haven't had that happen before and eventually I just got fed up with it.

What header do you have on it?

can you get a picture of what the outlet on the exhaust looks like, tailpipe on the rear bumper.

Man that seems way quite. Which is good in my book, as I am an old fart that did the loud exhaust thing like 25 years ago. I want something that want be interfere with listening to music on road trips, but would sound nice under WOT. How much did the install cost? Did they use stainless steel tubing? Thanks.

Stock. I'll be adding the FSWerks header and a magnaflow cat once tuning is available.

It's the same thing as stock, where the piping just gets bent downwards but it's not quite as noticeable. Here's a pic:



I decided against a tip because:

-The one I got was too big and looked odd hanging below the bumper IMO (kinda looked like what REDFOCZ went with).
-If I'm going to add a tip, I'll make a cutout in the rear valiance or use an aftermarket one (if any come out that I like).
-I'll be redoing the exhaust later as, it was not mandrel bent (die bender), used aluminum piping, and the fact that I have to add a cat and header later.

I actually kinda like the look. It's low key so I don't have to worry about getting bothered by the local ricer population.

I would have just waited to do the whole thing correctly with mandrel bends and stainless piping, but the install cost was so cheap that I figured "why not try it out first to make sure I like the sound?"

As far as specifics on cost:

Mufflers: $260
Piping/install: $80

Don't hate on aluminized piping. I've had it on a couple of trucks and it stayed nice and rust free for years. Actually kept its finish better than some of the cheaper 409 stainless out there.

I think until an after market valance with a bumper cut out is available...this is the best option. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I would try to adjust it so it's not visible at all from the back of the car.

That would be killer with a dual outlet muffler and the outlets ran like that. Stealthy.
