Question Sw1/sw2?

Are these ones marked SW1 and SW2 for the subwoofer?

Sw1/2

SW1 and SW2 in the diagram are the sub output. I tested a random (SVC) sub I had laying around and it took SW2 and DAB inputs at the sub out. I didn't jigger with the amp inputs, only outputs.

I tested using a tone generator at 50Hz at full volume and no ill effects to stock stereo or amp.

VT = Violet (+)
YF = Yellow (-)
GN-VT = Green w/Violet stripe (+)
GY = Gray (-)

would be nice if the amp had another output channel (does it?) so I could wire my other sub directly to the amp without splicing into existing connections but I have to give this car back in 2 years and I'm not going to spend a lot of time+energy on an upgrade to the amp.

Nice, +1 for you! I'll have to see if I can find them in my car and use them for the sub instead of the current way that I'm tapped into the main 4 channels.

Ah crap, I just notice you have the SEL, my SE might be different.

SE v SEL

I added pics to my previous post that show the amp harnesses and the sub output so you can see how it all goes together. I spliced into the connector at the sub to test the output signals and right now I'm running two 8" subs (factory 8" and my other spare 8") off the amp. I realize it's not ideal, but like I said I don't mind since I'm giving the car back and really just wanted a little extra bump. I'm no audiophile or perfectionist ...

Hello all -

I've been lurking in this thread for a while - I just wanted to let everyone know that I emailed Metra about their dash kit the other day, and got a response:

>>Hello -

I was wondering if you could tell me when the dash kit for the 2012
Ford Focus (part #99-5827)is going to be available - I saw the press
release back in December, but have not been able to find the kit for
sale as of yet.
________________________________________________________

That kit is still about 60-90 days out. Whenever we release these
electronic kits, they have to go through rigorous real world tests
before they're approved to ship. Please keep checking back.

That's great to hear, because I emailed them 2 week ago and they said no ETA was available.

march 20th is coming up(first day of spring) and soon after should be the metra kit :)
The day it is avalible i am ordering.

I was considering hooking up a single din head unit in the glove box (both head units would be functional but only one should be on at a time) But since the kit is to be released in the spring i am prolly going to wait a few more weeks.
