It could be pretty much the same as a raised rpm clutch drop in a manual. I.e. it probably wears the clutch quite aggressively to get the car moving faster.

Its VERY bad on the clutches , thats why the function is there , it isnt a 2-step at all but a safety load feature for the clutches

I also have a 2012 Tit with every option and found it over a year ago on mine but wont be stressing the DCT pack to play with it

Tom

If someone tells you it's very bad on the clutches, and you're willing to still do it. Be my guest, but if something bad happens. Be sure to come back and tell us how much you're going to be paying to fix everything.

Still got a long time under the warranty, lol.

Is this a real feature or what? I'm trying to figure out if its just actually launch control or if it isn't. (not that it matters with the engine this thing has but still.)

i just recently bought my 12 sel sedan and found this in the first hour of driving. i cant remember where i read this but ford does not recomend to launch using this found "feature". i personally purchased mine from a rental car lot and mine came with a 75000 mile powertrain warranty with no questions asked (i have vigorously spoke with the companies maint. division) so ill be the Guine pig. it does get the car off line much quicker but tcs needs to be off or youll get that horrible wheel hop
