a/c compressor woes

So I'm currently out of town for work and my check engine light came on last night on my way back to the hotel. Noticed that the engine didn't sound like its usual self so I babied it the rest of the way. Look under the hood and I notice that the A/C compressor kicks on and off every 5-10 seconds at idle. Has anyone come across a problem like this before?

short cycling from low Freon charge, Kicks in and then LP cutoff switch kills it. Very common.

It could be that, or it could be a bad clutch. You need gauges to measure the refrigerant level. If you are low on refrigerant, you have a leak that will have to be repaired.

Nah most likely low Freon.
