rear defrost metal tab broke off

The metal tab on the defrost grid that connects the female electric connector broke off. Any suggestions on what I can use to connect it again?

If the whole bracket came loose from the window, you could TRY super glue (just a drop) to hold it back on, followed by the conductive paint from a grid repair kit painted over it & the grid edge line to reconnect it. (doubt the paint would hold it as a glue)

Worth a try, the first answer MAY be the only "satisfactory" repair if you aren't real gentle with that connection.

luck!

Short of a new window it will be hard to make a lasting repair because you have a lift gate, all that banging around when you close it will likely undo any repair you try to make.

Yep, there was a special quick soldering thing they used to do to fix that, be willing to bet they'd rather sell the glass now instead. The fix was very picky about how it was done, heating the glass to solder tab could easily shatter it. Only real place to get that fixed and right would be factory where glass was made.

If its the tab that came off the glass use aluminum tape to hold it in place. Worked fine on my van when the tab came off the glass.

They sell kits to repair that situation at parts stores like oreillys, autozone, etc.

Yes, and like so many other 'kits' they sell there, they are crap. The window does not defrost as well, hard to get the full amount of current through the patch job since quite a bit goes through there. Fixing the main supply is quite different from just fixing one line going across the window.
