Hatch won't unlock via proximity sensor

Howdy all,
Bought my 2012 Titanium new in August 2012. Up until about a week ago, if the car was locked and I approached the hatch with the fob in my pocket, I could touch the button by the license plate and the hatch would unlock and release. I was mildly rear ended on the right side, damaging the right rear bumper and quarter panel a few weeks ago. After getting the car back, I can no longer unlock the hatch as I just described. I can hit the hatch release button on my fob twice and the hatch will release, or I can unlock the car and then push the button by the license plate and it will release, but I can't simply touch the button while the car is locked and the fob is in my pocket like before.

All the door handles work as they always have, meaning I can just touch them and the doors will unlock. Any thoughts? Is there something in the back the body shop may have forgotten to reconnect? Or is it maybe a coincidence and is there a more likely culprit?

Thanks!

It seems related to the body work if it worked before but doesn't now. Did it still work after the damage occurred?

Yeah..... It worked until I got it back from the body shop. I'm just curious if there's a harness back there that could have not been reconnected. I'd rather just reconnect it myself than deal with the shop if I can avoid it.
