Check Engine Light Occurrence on 2012

Ran into town on lunch today. Went to pull out of the parking lot, and it seemed at the same time the car was downshifting I hit the gas to accelerate and the check engine lite came on.

So I started to accelerate again and the engine would barely respond and just rev. up. I pulled over, turned off / restarted the car and it was fine afterwards.

Not sure what to think of this. I e-mailed the dealer about this, and will be something I will keep an eye on.

Agreed. A new car shouldn't be doing that, anyways, I'm assuming whatever happened was datalogged so your dealer should be able to tell what it is pretty quick.

+1. Get it in while it's still hot off the press! I wouldn't want to start messing with warranty times / limits.

Another thought...did you try getting a vehicle health report from SYNC?

The thing is the closest Ford dealer is 90 minutes away, and the one I bought it from is in Vegas 3.5 hours away. So I cant just pop in after work and expect it to be looked at.

Im going to pull a vehicle health report today and see what happens. Dealer asked me to do the same (pull the report) and feels it was a sensor.

Im starting to think I was in the SelectShift "S" gear instead of the Automatic "D" and not realize it.

Not sure what would have triggered the light coming on, maybe I rev'd it too high since I didnt realize it.
