FWIW my Kona Blue is scheduled for the week of May 23 and according to the dealer no problems so far.
I should clarify that mid-April order was never "picked up" by the factory. It is my understanding that once you're assigned a VIN and build week, you're good to go---that's what the whole process of picking up an order is, that all the commodities needed to assemble the car are available.

I appear to just have missed the cut for my region/trim/whatever factors come into play.

I do think that there may be quite a few people whose Kona orders are sitting in the system with a status of "unscheduled" and their dealers haven't noticed yet. It's my understanding that those orders will not be fulfilled until the paint code is switched to Sonic Blue or another color.

I just called the dealership. It has been over 3 weeks and haven't received any info on vin# or build date. Dealership forgot to enter my order and now tells me I cannot get Kona Blue. If I pick a new color, I can start the process over and maybe get my car in 6-8 weeks. That sucks ass.

My salesperson screwed up and I either have to wait or pick something I don't want. I left a nasty voicemail message for the general manager about the situation. Overall I am not even sure I want the car anymore. It is situations like this that are reason I stay away from American cars.

Ford may make a good product. Too bad their dealerships are killing them from the inside out.

I'm almost in the same situation. Placed my order 3 weeks ago and won't tell me anything. Finally got a response today that I'll get an update Monday. Sounds like they're trying to hide something.

I ordered a candy red titanium the 4 weeks ago & picked it up yesterday. It has everything except the handling package & 2 tone interior.

I guess either "Sonic Blue" or "Blue Flame" is fine with me. I'll wait for Ford to sort it out. Maybe there will be more incentives.

Having a bad salesman is why you dont buy american? This could of happened at any dealership, I understand you're really frustrated, I would be to. But I guess I dont see your point of this being the reason you don't buy american.

Same situation as me. You gotta go in there and push for an update. I did, and heard today my Kona Blue was cancelled, replaced immediately with Sterling Gray and hoping for this process to finally get moving before summer hits.

Huge bummer, but I just want my new car. I can get over the color.

It is the whole package. The ford experince starts at the dealership continues when you buy/order the car, pick up the car, service the car, and the car itself.

Also the reason I ordered my car with this dealership because the were the best of the worse around here. One dealership said they don't do custom orders. The other two told me it be 3-4 months before I see the car and were not interested really helping me out.

Sorry for being sour on American Made products but this is why people are buying European and Asian cars. The experience is better and they justify their products.

My current car is a Mini Cooper S. I hand picked. The dealership kept me in contact with every step of the order. 2 months flew by and the experience was great. Mini doesn't have the bet service record but I still the car and brand because of the experience.

Sounds like you have some bad dealers, mine has been pretty good. My salesman has always taken my calls and answered my questions.

The other day he called and had a computer and a phone question (I work in IT) and I had no problem helping him, as much as I hate to work away from work haha.
