Both of those scenarios are unacceptable.

I only factory order vehicles now, and it's nice to get exactly what you want w/o anyone else ever test driving it. Plus, as long as the wait can be sometimes, it can actually be kind of fun tracking it's progress until it gets to you.
No doubt, but this whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.

I think the new Sonic Blue is too close in color to the Candy Blue.

I don't think they're very close at all. I saw a 2012 Focus in Candy Blue yesterday and it was a lot lighter than my Sonic Blue SVT. The Candy Blue put off a lot of brightness too, Sonic Blue doesn't really have much glow. I feel that Candy Blue is supposed to be more of a standout and "in your face" color than Sonic Blue.

Ford needs to find another paint vendor.

Problem is that the vendor they were using is the onlyone that can get those colors, and I really doubt they thought that a earthquake would cause a tsunami, which would almost cause a nuke melt down.

It's more than that. When I ordered my car, I specifically asked if there would be any problems with this color, because it was known about the Tuxedo Black and Red Candy. I was assured that nothing was abnormal and I'd have my car 6-8 weeks later. Meanwhile, I've seen some people post in here who have ordered Kona Blue cars after I did who got build dates.

For the replacement Sonic Blue, my dealer told me there's no guarantee of when that paint will actually get into production.

To add insult to injury, Ford's website still shows all these colors.

Wow, really....even Carsdirect.com lists the new replacement colors. I wonder who Ford has running the website?

For what it is worth, the supply of paint SHOULD be back to normal and the original colors should be available sometime in July/August from what I have heard. SOME production of Xirallic is already starting back up as well, so by July, the supply issues should be resolved.

Come on man, do you really think the sales guy is going to say there is a chance there will be a problem, with the chance you walk away?

Any GOOD sales person will tell the customer exactly what is going on, to the best of his/her ability. Saying there may be some additional delays due to the paint supplies would be a fair statement at this point, and will come across as telling it EXACTLY the way it is, without sounding overly positive or negative about the impact on delivery time.
