If you can get a new VW diesel for $22k I don't see why ford can't sell a ford focus diesel for $22k

Damn right I would. Despite diesel being higher $$ than gas here in Maine I think it's worth it. With our new Focus, I am happy enough with the mileage, but a diesel would even be more kick ass. And up here diesel is about as easy to find as gasoline!!

Ford is a much bigger company than VW yet VW sells a diesel not that expensive. Ford needs both the Ford Focus Diesel and the Fiesta Diesel in the US market . Chevy Cruze Diesel will be in the US market I can see that being a very popular alternative to the VW diesel

Rode in a Focus diesel, my car's doppelganger down to the color save for the motor, in the UK a couple of weeks back and I must say that I was quite impressed. It was the smaller of the two diesel's but pulled strong and had no trouble getting up to speed and maintaining it on the highway. I was also surprised by how quiet it was. Diesel's have truly come along way since those loud, smelly 80's Merc's.

If the Cruze comes out with the 2.0T diesel. 163hp and 266 ft/lbs torque, that car would be seriously quick, and even more so with a tune. Also anyone seen this? Wonder if GM will bring it here...
