lol, I initially thought these slots were for some kind of sensor like the bluetooth mic up above the rear-view mirror on some cars.

Well, at least I hope it not a sensor I keep shoving my cards into

It is such a precise fit, a card is the only logical conclusion.

Fits perfect in that slot. And I have the securing cable looped around the back of the glove box where there is a opening. Since our glove boxes do not lock, this gives me a way to lock up my gun if I need to, like if I bring the car to a car wash, or in for service....or valet park it.
Very nice. What is the brand/model of that lock box?

Not sure off hand, got mine on eBay. They are pretty common on eBay and also on Amazon. Just search "Car gun safe" and you'll find them.

Look up the Gun Vault brand on Google. They make awesome units and I have one of the finger ones under the seat of our Nissan.

I think that is what mine is. As I mentioned it fits perfect in the slot for the manual.

doesnt hurt the wire. i plug my phone into the cig lighter and then throw my phone into the centre consol..so is closes nicely on the wire as long as its not poking out the side. gotta come out the front to the left or right of the latch

For that little shelf, my dealer gave me a ford pouch that fits my owners manual and a bunch of other paperwork + my ownership and insurance. It fits perfectly in the little shelf.
