All non-sync car has an aux jack in the glovebox otherwise it's in the console!

Don't you guys have the USB and line in ports on the upper part of the glove box? Over here they sell an ipod accessory cable and that's what clips neatly into that plastic bit sticking up.

As for the slit....business cards I guess, as others have mentioned.

I stumbled on this discussion googling for info on these slots. I found another pair of slots where a card size object seems to fit under the climate controls. Are these slots documented anywhere?

This is where the self park buttons are on higher trim levels...maybe ford just wanted to create one bezel design. Although that doesn't make much sense in an SE....

I read something the other day where they are referred to as "credit card" slots. So that's where you stash your cards when you're driving???

Hell no, not credit cards. More like express toll cards, ID, etc. Anyway, only the tip of the card shows and you certainly cannot make it out from the window.

I put my Work Parking pass Card and My Gas Company points card in those two slots. They fit perfectly. I thought it was a brilliant idea. I also find that the owners manual never stays in the upper shelf area. I'm thinking it would be simple to add a piece of stiff cardboard or plastic under the manual to make it stay in place. I just haven't tried it yet.
