I can definitely agree here ... but everyone starts somewhere.

This is good advice though to keep pushing to others.

Oh it's definitely a phone. I haven't seen a point and shoot sensor that bad since 2001.

Maybe I should create a thread... "Step 1 of being a photographer: Get a real camera"

Step 2: Never ever use fake HDR.

Yes it is a cell fone and I cropped it like that to get ride if the blue handicap line and just did a focal blur. Thanks for the creative critiquing but yes I'm still learning.

I woulnd't say all that......

My Great Uncle was Princess Grace's personal photographer. His words to us were you can have the best camera and still not be a photographer. If you can't take a picture with the simplest of cameras, then dont bother moving up. I am by no means a pro and hope to better myself every time I pick up my camera.

Don't get me wrong, I obviously feel that the better the equipment and the better the editing software, the better the outcome. But you have to start out using what you have and moving up. If you don't have an eye for shooting and the know-how, then buying an expensive camera is worthless.

Well not everybody can be big money and have a $1000 camera and lenses, I'm making do with what I got. I'm more into capturing the moment and memory vs a museum or gallery quality piece.

^^ This ^^

Everytime I hear these kind of things, the quote I often use pops up:
"It's not the arrow, but the indian"

Develop your eye and your gear will follow to it's abilities. And once you outgrow your gear, then move up.
