whats a good upgrade camera for a semipro photog? Im looking to upgrade for my still work I would like to stay with nikon and not spend over 800+

Should look into the Nikon d5100 or d7000, with the D5200 being released soon the d5100 should be dropping in price

I feel like we almost need a "what camera should I buy?" thread in here :P
As far as what camera to get, I agree with the D5100 or D7000; they have the same sensor. If you're doing mostly in-studio work and don't need a rugged body, get the D5100. If you find yourself out in the field a lot, though, the sturdier D7000 body will prove more reliable.

Ya I agree maybe a camera review too. I use the d3100 but I'm feeling like I'm being held back with it a little. Ill look into the d7k

Also remember that the d7000 has high speed sync for flash unlike the d5100 that it doesn't so your are limited to 1/200 shutter speed
