so I was incorrectly informed orginally about the lenses I'll be getting (in a good way). Turns out the 28-105mm USM f/3.5-4.5 is a MACRO! and the 75-300 IS a USM. woot woot! should be a nice come up. Now I'll need to learn how to take macro shots. haha any advice with those? or just learn as I go?

The 28-105 is a macro ... how good of one? I don't believe it is a 1:1 macro ... If I remember it is a 1:2 macro. Which isn't too bad now that I think about it.
