I used shutter priority (Tv) on that one...
1/50 second at f2.8

I chose the longest shutter speed I was comfortable with to get the fire cone streak. I knew I was far enough away from the car that the DOF at f2.8 wouldn't be a factor (as DOF is also affected by distance to subject)

...but what do I know...shoulda just shot it in sports mode with the pop-up flash...

for sure. I still seem to have the hardest time with night shots. Maybe I just suck at panning as well. hahah

but as far as the crispness of the t2i/t3i and a prime lens, I agree. Excellent combo.
