Yup, but they still make the wind-up cameras. Because they have tons of film stock still.

Gotta finish the supply and get their money back somewhere to fully break even.

Since we're on the subject of old cheapo cameras, this was taken with my first Polaroid 5 MP $99 camera!

My dad's first camera was an old Kodak. My brother's first camera was one of their Advantix APS cameras with the flip up lens cover that had the flash, and my first good (not counting my good ole Polaroid iZone which was more of a toy) camera, before I started shooting film, was a used Kodak zoom I use a ton. At least they're still going to make film, but sadly Elite Chrome/Ektachrome is joining Kodachrome in the retirement home. Color reversal film (Slides) had some real advantages, mainly that there wasn't near the room for the developing process to change your photo; what you shot was pretty much what you got. Too bad when I went for a roll processing was something like $12 + prints and Kodak only runs film once a month so I was looking at a 30+ day turn around...

I think what killed them was I know a LOT of people bought into the EasyShare system as their first digital camera, and it was a great idea. The problem was as consumers moved up to want more features, Kodak wasn't really there for them until they came out with the ZD series a few years ago. By then it was too late as the EasyShare printers were being phased out and consumers had moved onto other brands.

Does anyone still buy those disposable cameras though? I used many of those on school field trips...

hmm. Found the charger for my camera and snapped a few shots for the hell of it. Good old camera. Its an Easyshare M753. Beat up pretty bad (will have to take a pic of it) but I haven't had any shutter failures yet.

I have an old kodak easyshare 4mp camera somewhere. Really want to find it now. Still have every camera I ever owned besides the disposable ones.

Sweet. You should find a good spot to put it up for display. I would.

I am thinking about buying an old Film Nikon just to put up for display in my home office.
