^ last one is quite honestly just about perfect. Lighting is magnificent. Looks like a corporate picture for Ford...

I would remove the handicap sign on the right
Also the WB looks a little yellow/green

Took my brothers senior portraits on Sunday.

Now I don't take portraits often AT ALL, but I think a few turned out pretty good...

^^ Not bad.

Some suggestions. Get into the Bokeh feel with portraits like you do with your car photos.

Blur the background some to isolate the subject, here being your brother.

Also, for Portraits, the rule of thirds work best when using the eyes and not the whole body. I feel your brothers body is in the lower right lower third and then my eye wonders to the upper left and gets lost with that background. Too distracting.

But I like the natural color and pose of your brother.

I think a flash with a diffuser and faster shutter would've done wonders for that portrait. The background is waaaay to bright. Your bro's skin is the same color as the stone tunnel and it all just washes together like a big bowl of milk.

I think if you had angled the pic so that the background was more of the different colored stones rather than the walls of the tunnel, it would've turned out much better.

A reflector would have given about the same result as a flash depending on the direction of the sun and how you use it.

But for this photo, some Cropping and PS would also do the trick as oppose to re-shooting.

My attempt to replicate some of the beautiful flower photography Dietrich does...

This is the best one I have, though it still looks out of focus...

^^ The last picture of ARMYBOT is my favorite by far. The subject sticks out and the background isn't too distracting. There's only one issue: were you using autofocus? It looks like the focus point is the grass in front of him.
