I'm in talks with someone on CL for a D60 with kit lens. Here's hoping.

D60 might be better (I don't know Nikon at all), but I was talking to someone very close (geographically) from CL that was trying to sell a Rebel XTi with kit lens (18-55mm), for $300. Full stock kit, including packaging, if I recall. Something like 5,000 shutter actuations on the clock (it's rated for 100k).

If you become interested, let me know, and I can pick it up for you and pass it on at cost. The guy is literally one town over from me, so I could pick it up same day you're really interested. The Rebel XTi is an amazing starter DSLR, and as I hope I've shown, can produce very decent photos without costing you an arm and a leg.

I was originally going to buy it as a gift for a friend, but he ended up buying a T3i before I could give it to him.

We'll see how this goes. I had the XT for a while and then a Nikon D3000. I liked the Nikon more, better build quality, felt faster, IMO.

Thanks. I learned a long time ago that my inclination for vivid, saturated colors does not coincide with the preference of the masses. But Iim okay with that.

Lol no worries. I used to over process mine as well. I'm starting to move away from that now, though.

I'm a sucker for saturation. I love the surreal imagery of HDR photography. Seeing more dynamic range in a picture than even my eye is capable of makes me happy. (I'm in no way saying my feeble attempts at processing accomplishes this, lol)
I know a lot of people can't stand strong HDR imaging, but those people strike me as the same type that gripe about movies being 'unrealistic'.
Lmao, if you want realistic, look out your window.

But thanks again, I like the Spider Lilly the best as well.

Here's a shot of the Cumbres & Toltec train
