If a P&S still works for what you're shooting than there's no reason to upgrade.

A lower model camera in a good photog's hands beats a top-of-the-line model in a fauxtog's hands.

There are some things I'd like to have a larger aperture for, and the ability for a wider lens and a few other things. I'll get a dslr one day, but no time soon.

Any camera is as good as the dummy that runs it.

Someone told me that one day at a photo convention ... it's true. I asked this guy why call us dummies ... he said ... we are dummy enough to keep buying lenses and not work fully on technique until we have said expensive lens/equipment. lol.

Some pictures I took the other night with my new camera. The camera is a Canon Rebel XS with just a normal 18-55mm EFS Lens. The cars are a 1G Talon TSI AWD, MK IV GTI, Daewoo Lanos Sport, a V6 Camaro, and my 2002 SE. The others are from the first real snowfall we've had on campus (Clarkson University). I understand some of them are kind of blurry but we were freezing our butts off and my hands were losing mobility.

The owner doesn't for some reason... I think it really finishes the look on the car but he just has it on there because he can't fit his board in the trunk with his subs.

Couple from this evening while trolling for some good shoot locations for the car scene down here. Scored a park entrance next to a well lit parking garage lol.

I like the shot in the garage over the outside shot here.

I think its bit dark towards the front bumper. But nice lean shots.

Yea I couldnt really take the time to pic the best spot under the light at the park lol. Park Ranger was shutting the gate so I could only take three or four to get this and run lol.

I do think it would look good with a head on shot of the front under the lights so I will probably go back there and try another. I still need to pick up one of those filters yall said was good for night shots with tripods.
