Question Changing starter on Zetec engine 2002 se wagon

Hi !!! New here..Hope you guys can help me...

Last week my battery was low so I boosted it with a charger to start the car no luck . I knew my battery was pretty old so I purchased a brand new Battery. Shoved it in and tried starting car. All I hear is a " click tung" "Click Tung" when I turn the key to start. Now I'm stuck with 2 batteries and the car still wont start.... I suspect it's the starter but could it be a relay of somesort elsewhere ? I checked ALL the Fuses in the Main box and all good.

Next question, Where the heck is the starter and can I remove it without having to go under the car ? I have a 2002 Focus SE wagon with a Zetec engine.

Thanks for any tips and tricks you may have.

its on the back of the engine, it would be hard to do it from the top, its under the intake. if you remove the airfilter box and intake tube you can see it looking from the drivers side looking just under the intake. good luck

Check the starter relay R17 in the passenger compartment fuse panel:
