How to talk about EV "mpg" in a way that people get

Yeah, using Khw/miles levels the playing field and give you true energy consumption of the vehicle regardless of fuel used. Motortrend has been reporting fuel consumption like this in addition to the common mpg.

Honda Civic:
EPA CITY/HWY FUEL ECON 28/39 mpg
ENERGY CONSUMPTION, CITY/HWY 120/86 kW-hrs/100 miles

Bentley:
EPA CITY/HWY FUEL ECON 12/19 mpg
ENERGY CONSUMPTION, CITY/HWY 281/177 kW-hrs/100 miles

Actually the post does not suggest using kw/100 miles.
