imccrea, first I think it's amazing that you've been helping people throughout your 78 page thread. I'm new here, but as one of the community, I want to say thanks for all of the help you have provided for us. I've learned some things by reading through some of the posts, but I'd like to get the complete picture for what I plan to order, as I'm fairly sure that what I want necessitates an order.

So here it is as configured on Fords website:
-Focus SE 5-door
-Automatic trans
-Equipment Package 203A
-Color: Sonic Blue Metallic
-SE Sport Package
-Winter Package
-Exterior Protection Package
-Moonroof
-17" Machined and Painted Alloy Wheels
-Convenience Package *
-MyFord and SYNC Package *
-Cargo Area Protector
-Power Code Remote Start System
-Stainless Steel Door Sill Plates
-AM/FM Single CD/MP3 w/6 Speakers & Satellite Radio *
-SYNC Elements with USB *
-Two Tone Sport Bucket Seats *
-Ash Cup/Coin Holder (gotta have a place for coins :)

* These options were pre-selected based on other package selections and had no extra cost, $0.

The Total comes out to 24,730 in area code 98335.

I'm wondering what a fair deal would be. It is also important to me to maintain good customer relations with the dealership for when I bring the car to them in the future, for routine maintenance, or in case something goes wrong with the car.

What is the invoice amount? and what is the amount with the X-plan? I would gladly pay $40 to the EAA for the use of X-plan if it's my best route. And I should be getting an incentive in the mail since I requested a brochure in the mail.

Any point in discussing the potential trade-in value of my current car as well?

I eagerly await your wisdom oh great one!

When Ford releases a car like the ST, is the x-plan usually not availible because of high demand? I imagine the answer is not something you have, but if you had to make a prediction...
Thanks

x-plan availability on SVT products will depend on the dealer not on ford. Some dealers are more than willing to offer x-plan on them while others prefer to put an outrageous mark up on them. If demand were the requirement for no x-plan the titaniums would not be eligible for it because dealers can't keep them on their lot longer than about 5 minutes. Personally I doubt the ST will be any different

Ok got my window sticker today. There is no delivery dealership on it, it's yellow bordered, and says EXPORT ONLY 7 at the bottom, and all Gov't safety ratings say "not rated".

I am assuming the export only is because it was ordered through the "overseas military exchange". but is the rest of the things standard for a pre-build window sticker? looks like everything is there that is supposed to be which is a good thing.

Sorry for the delay, Labor day as usual was hectic and had to go to Kansas yesterday for a dealer trade.

So I found 1, 201 with winter and Sport in red.

Here's the dealers information:

Name Bill Brown Ford
Address 32222 Plymouth Road
City Livonia
State MI
Postal Code 48150
Phone (734) 421-7000

If this one is sold you have to order, literally the only Focus like it in America.

The best way is go to your dealer and tell them you plan on ordering the above car via X-Plan. They can build it for you and produce an X-Plan number. Right now there are a few 203A but without remote start, cargo pkg, etc so they have an MSRP of $23,790. X-Plan on these are $22,526 so figure about $1,300 off for X-plan plus incentives.

RE trade:
I would have them put a number on it, then try and sell it yourself. If your state gives you a sales tax saving for trading in a car know the math on how much you need to retail it for vs. trading it in. I always prefer doing deals without trades but I know it's a necessary evil. Do your research, not just what does KBB tell me my car is worth but actually look through Craigslist, Cars.com and Autotrader. If KBB says your car is worth $20,000 and cars.com has your car retailed on a lot for $19,990 do you really feel justified in asking for $20,000?

To be honest I'd offer invoice less half holdback plus incentives and TTL, D & H and see what they counter at. They have plenty of inventory so what's one Escape.
