That is really lame of them to do. The worst part of that is that no one outside of California can sell California emissioned vehicles unless they are registered in California so dealers there can do whatever they want on price with the customers.

Sorry man, I looked into Nor Cal, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona because they order PZEV for California customers but there is only 1 that is blue candy in SF.

Yeah, it is really lame. They told me that if I had come in yesterday to sign everything it would have worked. I told them I was really pissed that because I have a life and crap to do, 20 hours cost me $1000. Needless to say, I'm not working with them anymore. They're not even working with Costco auto anymore on these. Unfortunately they kinda have me by the balls too, because I have to use the $500 finance rebate by the end of the month, and the $750 private cash just 4 days after that, so I don't have time to order the car I want. So I'm going to have to get it at MSRP, and after the $1250 worth of rebates, I'm looking at $23,630.

Not bad I guess...but not what was offered to me either.

It's the dealers prerogative to sell their cars for what they can get...which really kinda defeats the whole purpose of this thread.

Why should the dealer cheap-sell the car to you when they know they can get more?Last I checked, dealerships still sell the cars so when they get a shot to hold some gross, they certainly can and will...it's called free enterprise.

It's metal dude, get over it. Ya there can be tons of gross but with $500 markup who cares.

If I have a signed order with my purchase price (and trade) can they back down when the car comes in?

Kinda scared after reading about someone's offer being retracted.

I think if you've gone into the dealership and signed something, like a pen in your hand and signed something contract-like, you should be good. Evidently an email with some numbers and a copy of the window sticker is just a ploy to get you into the dealership.

Thanks buddy. I'll give it a go. They're pretty ruthless down here.

K, good to hear. I signed a contract-like paper and gave a $500 deposit.

Sorry to hear your deal didn't go through as planned. Very sneaky on their part.
