However with regard to the incentives:
You have $250 customer cash and your brochure is valid for $500 on a Fiesta ($750 on other lines).
Thx. for the quick response and I will look for a job 2 Focus.

Can I ask about incentives on the Edge and Fusions. I was looking thru the websites and the incentive lists are very long including both local/national and I'm not sure what's combinable. Not qualified for military, police, student - have no idea what new hire car voucher means.

I have a cousin that lives in Denver - never been....

Thank you Ira.You have probably been asked that question a hundred times. Sorry for being repetitive. Is there a thread that has these terms explained, so we noobs don't keep bothering you with the same questions? Congrats on the engagement.

I'll probably make a thread when I get 20 minutes free. Just need to know what all to put in there!

Thank you for the reply. The Ford dealer I visited yesterday was less than forthcoming about these rebates and wouldn't even show me the x-plan pricing on the vehicles I looked at. Thank you again.

He also had no idea what a job 2 Focus was.

His reply to my questions about FMC financing was that the interest rates weren't relevent as I could just refinance with my bank in 2 months. My FICO score is 797 (pulled on Saturday morning at my bank which offered 2.48% for up to 48mos. 2009 model or newer). Wouldn't the interest rates on FMC financing be competitive with my own bank? Do the dealers set the interest rate irregardless of credit score?

The whole experience was weird and he could have sold me a Fusion, but didn't. Weird.

Probably just a sales associate, not a professional IMO.

He said not relevant because the rate is quite high compared to your 2.48%. FMC gives you 6.99% to get the most rebates, you refinance after 3 payments are made. This is done so we do not get charged back the rebate. Comes out of my pay if customers pay off before 3 months so it does cost me money in the end. Let me know if you want to get information on any vehicles I have, check out www.phillongdenver.com if you want to see our current inventory.

Ira

Is that higher interest rate a hard and fast rule to get the finance rebate cash?

I have no intention of paying off the loan early for a couple reasons; a child who will be a senior in college (talking about graduate school) and I currently get 3% on my high yield checking account. (My bank knows this and was quick to offer me $100 on top of the 2.48% to finance or refi with them).

Would I be wasting my time trying to negotiate a competitive rate perhaps with a prepayment penalty clause (simple interest amortized) + rebate cash?
