Got a copy of my order yesterday, what I hadn't figured in was $47.16 for a Fuel Charge, $443 for an Advertising Assessment (WTF?) and $795 for Dest/Delivery.

My dealer does this too:

The Fuel Charge is for what used to be the complimentary first tank of gas with a new car.

The Advertising Assessment is to pay for Mike Rowe on TV.

Destination, which has been there for years, is to ship it to your location from the factory.

The last one I expected. The first two surprised me.

Yeah the advertising fee is B.S., sorry Ford. I work in manufacturing myself. Advertising is figured in to the price of the product. It's just a way for them to make the retail price look less than it actually is. Once they have you excited about the new car, they figure you'll just say "Oh it's only $500 more".

EDIT: After looking at the order sheet, the Advertising Assessment is only charged on the dealer invoice breakdown. It is NOT listed under the retail breakdown. So really it's a fee they charge the dealers for advertising. I stand corrected.

x100. Gotta pay to be number 1 ladies and gents!

And as you pointed out, those fees goes against the dealers profit anyways, it does not help us out.

Just to verify - are you totally sure the plans will be available for dealers to make a call on? On the facebook Ford ST page, "Lisa" the ST brand manager mentioned that A/Z/D/X plans will not be available. Maybe she was just assuming most dealerships wouldn't allow it, but I guess the question is will Ford compensate the dealer as they normally do if someone turns in a PIN number for a Focus ST.

Based on what I'm told is it's dealer by dealer specific. But what you're saying is more than likely true as dealers will not be compensated commission on it.

Still not sure I'm following you. You're saying that you will sell a few at A-plan, but you won't actually be turning that PIN number into Ford to get something back? Wouldn't you be losing money at that point?

we are turning them in if we do any plan deals. Just I don't have the access to see if we will get the commission back or not. I was just told that I can do a A/Z/D plan ST, after that I didn't ask questions.

Based on the past of the GT500 at release there won't be any plan pricing however when we went to build one in the system it allowed us to create a D plan price for the ST. Is that still confusing?
