2014 SE HB With Nav pricing

Hello Everyone, been looking at the focus for several weeks now, my local dealer has found me one with the options I'm looking for. Looking around however I'm feeling like their price is a bit high. They had the car transferred in for me, tomorrow evening I'm scheduled to go in, sign the paperwork and pick it up.

The car is a 2014 SE hatch with a manual trans, 201A equip group, MFT with NAV, SE appearance black package, winter package, moon roof, reverse sensing system, exterior protection package and scuff plate. MSRP is at $25665.

Salesman took a couple bucks off plus three grand in rebates, he is offering it to me for $21500. Looking around at some other posts I feel like this number should be a couple grand lower, esp as they are shorting me more than I would like on my trade. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Edit- True Car puts the price at $22,315 prior to rebates.

Mine is equipped differently than yours but if it helps for comparison I just bought a month ago. The MSRP (window sticker) on mine was $20,110.00. There were $4,000.00 in rebates (including a $500 'Facebook' rebate). I have done business with them before and was shopping 3 dealers and got the price down to $14,481.50 (which included the BS admin fees). After taxes and tag that brought it to my offered $15,500.00 out the door. Sounds like they're basically giving you the rebates and then maybe knocking off a couple of hundred. Mine was more around $5,600.00 under the sticker (to be exact I think, $1,628.50 under the MSRP after subtracting the $4000 in rebates). For your deal to be exactly the same as mine just to make it easy, that would mean if the rebates are still $4,000 you would have to pay $20,036.50 before taxes and tag.

Keep in mind I've bought 11 new cars in 10 years, including 2 at that dealership in the last nine months. I also have a very high credit score which can make for a little better negotiating power sometime. I consider myself a pretty hard negotiator so I had to 'work' for that price but there's always somebody that can do better. All in all, I don't think you're doing too bad but yes, sounds like there might be about another $1,000 - $1,500 wiggle room in there.

I assume if they're transferring the car to you and you're due to go in and sign the papers, you must have felt comfortable at the time? If you didn't you shouldn't have got to that point I wouldn't think. If you're having second thoughts and you didn't sign an agreement then don't do the deal but trying to negotiate further with that dealer that in good faith transferred the car at your request could be a bit difficult.

edit: I just noticed your post says 3k in rebates. One that I took advantage of was the $500 rebate for financing with Ford. Within a week I then went to my credit union and refinanced. Check on Facebook for a ford page that you can 'like' or ask your friends if they've got a link for the $500 rebate if it's still available.
