2014 Ford Focus S Sedan ($14.7K out of the door)

Just bought a 2014 Ford Focus S Sedan for $14,700 out-of-the door including TTL (Sterling Grey). The negotiated price of the car was $13,100. Attached is the window sticker of the car with an MSRP of $18,730.

Just wondering if we got a good deal? This is the first 'new' car we have ever bought, so the negotiations at the dealership was very stressful and left a lot to be desired. But we felt we didn't do too bad considering we drove a brand new car off the lot for less than $15K. Please let me know if we could have done any better on the price and any negotiating strategies, so we are better prepared for next time.

This is our first Ford and we are glad to be a part of the Ford community!

I'm surprised you went with the S and not the SE. Salespeople have warned me that the S is lliterally barebones and is primarily a fleet vehicle.

That being said, if it works for you, it works for you!

Without looking up invoices and rebates and stuff I would say you did good. The markup in the S Focus like that is somewhere around 6 or 700 bucks. So that minus rebates.

Yeah, we weren't even looking at buying a new car. My wife is upgrading from a mid-90s Altima, so any car is a step-up. We wanted a used car in the $10-12K range and when we saw that we could get this 'S' Sedan for $13.1K, we thought we might as well go with the new car. Being able to break the Japanese car monotony was an added bonus. The SE was going to be about $3K more and we had already stretched our budget as far as we could go, so it wasn't an option.

You did great. Enjoy your Focus. I have owned 2 Focus since 1999. They are solid cars. The S is great
