bump because it should stay at the top of SPI performance to avoid continuous threads on the same question that turn into arguments

what happened to it before it wouldn't turn? suddenly just not want to move anymore or make some noise?

if it just stopped moving, check your main bearings. the metal of the valve seat is not enough to prevent the engine from turning. a busted piston can do that, but they don't randomly explode.

stopped to put gas. went to start car and leave heard some rattle then a clunk then the car stalled. tried to start it and it seemed like i had a bad starter got that click noise when i would try to start it but no turn. battery is new, starter is fairly new and alt.

decided to pop start it and wheels just didnt turn when i released the clutch.
the wheels are only free in neutral.

Lower mileage than that of other that have failed. remove your spark plugs, see if any are smashed. also try to shine a light into the cylinders.

with the plugs out, you should be able to crank the engine aroubd with the starter... should go pretty slow though.

if you don't see any visible signs as mentioned above, it may be time to pull some bearings on the bottom end. At the same time though, check for metal chunks of the piston in the oil pan etc.

I wouldnt doubt that if the seat dropped just right it could seize the engine though.

ok so i went to give it a shot this morning and i let it roll back and released the clutch (pop start) the car rolled a little while in gear. after that i was able to turn the motor a little using the starter, then it seems like the starter locks up. fly wheel?. i also noticed rough shifting could something have broke in my transmission.

it seemed like i was able to turn the engine but not enough to start it.

starting to think transmission

have you tried checking any of the above? 2700 pounds of car will overcome 2-300 pounds of stuck rotating mass. it might be doing a lot of damage though.

it is possible it could be the transaxle if nothing above shows anything wrong.
