chalk the sides of the tires and check the wear after each run, see if you're getting the maximum contact patch. the chalk will let you know how much PSi to let out. after you get that dialed in, then start to play with the PSi depending on what you want the car to do.

not all tire pressures will be the same.
have fun out there!

GodLovesUgly is correct not all tire pressures will be the same. Climate change and suspension also play a role in deciding what tire pressure is ideal for ya.

What size wheel are the tires on?

For me: I have my RS3s on 16s and I have played with 28-32psi in the front and 30-34 in the rear.

I'm the wife - liking my car and tires very much.

Based on info from another thread, we started the pressures at 38 psi all around at my first event with the Hankooks. I rolled them over pretty bad on a skid pad. Eventually settled on 42 in the front, and that's working well on our local track.

I was just beginning to be somewhat competitive (at least among the ladies) in our local club when I switched to the Focus this spring - from a bargain basement 1988 Acura Integra! This year, I've managed to PAX as high as 15th out of 50 or 60 at local events. I was very excited to take 1st in the Ladies street tire Index (PAX) class at the Packwood National Tour last week, and glad to see Mr. Zerr take 1st in Open H-Stock with a Focus - though I didn't get a chance to meet him.

I'm thinking we made great choices with the car and the tires!

Welcome aboard svtmom.

And it's awesome to hear of you liking your ride and tires.

So you are running in H-Stock at the moment?

The SVT is definitely great in H-Stock. ... I have been running in ST this year, and am glad to have finally catch 1st my last run out against 2 very quick Civics!!!

Look forward to hearing your success stories, and if possible, some video of your runs. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Yes, I'm running in H-Stock.

On my way back to grid after one of my runs on Saturday, I heard the announcer say my PAX number must be wrong (as in - they can't possibly have correction factors this low!). It wasn't. :)
