Neither. It's actually in great shape. Your seeing some of the starch and silicone that's left from the heat wrap. I'll get that cleaned off.

nice, i hate to keep asking you so many questions but im a complete noob. what else do i need to buy to run this header? a different flex pipe and cat back?

To maximize the gains, you'll want at least a 2.25 " flex pipe and then some sort of better-flowing exhaust from the flex back. I have the FocusSport system on my sedan.

16-gauge steel. It has not been painted and it definitely needs a good polishing. The heat wrap left some starchy paste on it. It comes off with some sandpaper or steel wool but I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.
