What were you guys doing at the beginning? Just cutting off the spare tire mounting bracket? I recently took my first video footage of one of our autocross events, as well. I see we did a similar thing with the editing - put all of the lead-up clips near the beginning, and all the action at the end. Now I just have to figure out how to make it more exciting, hell I get bored about halfway through mine, and it is even shorter than yours. I think I'd need to have more time on course with the camera - instead of grilling out ![]() Quote:

CCSCC Conemelter Autocross in Rantoul, IL SVT focus in STX Run #4, 58.302 seconds 13/70 indexed, 20/70 on raw time Results are posted here You can hear me riding the revlimiter in 2nd for way too long, twice. I probably should have used 3rd. The car wasn't running too well, felt down on power and was running very rich - 10.8 where I'm commanding 12.9, also my tires are >2 years old and at about 1/32", and I still managed drive it to one of my personal best overall finishes (when you divide by # of entries). I'm glad, because I was starting to think I had reached a plateau. I think this car will be capable of top 5 indexed, and top 10 raw, if I manage to get on some decent Rcomps in FSP next year. I'm still on stock springs, too, even though STX (& FSP) allow aftermarket springs. I think the car works fine as is, but multiple guys with more experience than me have said it would be faster with shorter/stiffer springs. Mine are getting pretty rusty and making funny sounds, so I think I'll switch to H&R Race springs after the winter. The stock springs are especially bad when I run race tires, so its really not too important until next year. I also took a few video clips with a DSLR in the first heat, while my work assignment was grilling ![]()

this first one is from the Packwood NT earlier this month.
I was trying to catch up to OmniFocus, and had just switch from my hoosier A6's to toyo R888s in the grid. so, this is my first run ever on these tires. I knocked 4 seconds off my time. Omni was on hoosier wets.
and i'll throw in a rally-x vid from last month that i havent posted anywhere else. this is my 100$ escort GT. It took 1st overall.

Anyway I really enjoy the fast courses, the car handles differently at speed, I really like it. To be clear, I don't like the drag-race sections, but I LOVED that start-slalom-sweeper-slalom at the beginning of Saturday's course

nice Videos guys.
Mellephants, that course looks pretty fun. way to man handle the car!! nice finish in the standings, imagine with better rubber?? i love the sound of S2000's! it even sounds awesome when they bounce the limiter! Norm, that vid in the rain looks like fun!! i've never raced in that much water.. i've been pretty fortunate. i do want to give it a shot someday. Steve, your vids make me dizzy when i watch them!! does your region not have many lots? i bet it's hard to design courses at that venue. how did you place? i would imagine pretty high considering being in first gear. here is a vid of me from sunday, as event chair i was sort of scatter brained.. AND my car was still down for the count. with that said, i drove an RSX base model with everything stock besides the CAI. tires, Michelin all seasons!!! i could not find grip out there.. i over drove the car every single run except for the last. (this one) not sure if any of you have raced a V-TEC car.. but man-o-man it was hard to get the hang of. as soon as it kicked in, i lost all grip and got squirmy! but it was nice to have more power down low compared to my svt!!

We have three places we run at, this latest one being the newest. At least there are no dirt piles, light posts, or islands here. Another 2nd in class by about .7 sec against an older Civic SI on Star Specs. I'm running off brand all seasons , 340 tread rating. Waiting for results to be posted to see were I PAX'ed.
GLU, that run looked good for a car your not familiar with. Did you beat the owner? |

me, 47.863 owner, 48.993 i bet with the same tires, or even slightly better ones you'd take the cake. all seasons are fun if you wanna get loose!
